A Slow Burn with Gripping Revelations
Season 2 of Suzhal: The Vortex continues the dark, suspenseful crime thriller, set against the Ashtakaali festival in Kaalipattanam. The story begins with a murder mystery involving respected lawyer Chellappa, but soon expands into a chilling tale of child trafficking and corruption. Sub-Inspector Sakkarai (Kathir) unravels these secrets, with multiple women confessing to the crime, leading to a complex investigation.
While the series excels in tackling difficult themes like institutional failure and child abuse, its pacing is a major drawback, with the first few episodes moving slowly. The protagonist, Sakkarai, lacks depth, but the strong performances from Aishwarya Rajesh, Gouri Kishan, and others keep the story engaging. The slow build eventually pays off, revealing shocking twists and tying together the mystery.
Verdict: Suzhal: The Vortex Season 2 is a slower, more methodical crime drama that ultimately delivers an emotionally charged and morally heavy mystery, rewarding patient viewers with its unraveling twists.
