A Supernatural Thriller That Misses the Mark
Sabdham, directed by Arivazhagan and starring Aadhi, reunites the team behind the 2009 hit Eeram, but fails to live up to its predecessor. The film follows paranormal investigator Ruben (Aadhi) as he investigates mysterious student suicides at a medical college, linked to eerie sound hallucinations. While the atmosphere, created through dark cinematography, is effective, the film’s reliance on overwhelming sound effects and a confusing backstory detracts from its impact.
Aadhi delivers a solid performance, but the script fails to give him much to work with, and the supporting cast, including Lakshmi Menon and Simran, feel underdeveloped. The lack of suspense, poorly defined characters, and a disjointed narrative result in a disappointing viewing experience.
Short Verdict: Sabdham falls short of expectations, failing to provide the thrills and depth needed for a memorable supernatural thriller.
