Verdict: “A futuristic vision clouded by narrative confusion and lost potential.”
Kaliyugam is an ambitious dystopian thriller set in 2064, where a group called the Residents controls scarce resources, while the Liberators rise to challenge them. While the premise is compelling, the film loses steam early with scattered storytelling and slow pacing. Kishore and Iniyin Subramani give sincere performances, but it’s Shraddha Srinath’s entry as Pari that brings emotional depth. Despite a strong concept and decent worldbuilding, the film fails to deliver a cohesive and engaging experience.
