Xtreme: An Uneven Thriller
Xtreme begins with a gripping premise—a teen girl’s murder and a cop’s quest for justice. Sathyaseelan (Nagaraj) navigates a web of suspects, including migrant workers, classmates, and apartment residents, only to uncover a deeper conspiracy.
The opening sequences are engaging, and the message on substance abuse is impactful. However, the film falters with a disjointed narrative and underdeveloped subplots. While Nagaraj delivers a decent performance, the screenplay lacks coherence, and the backstory fails to resonate emotionally.
Though the climax offers a brief spark, Xtreme ultimately feels like a missed opportunity.
Verdict Quote: “A promising thriller let down by inconsistent storytelling.”
