DC is a stylish and intense action drama that marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s impressive debut as a lead actor. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film blends romance, revenge and gangster elements into a dark, visually rich world filled with raw emotions and explosive violence.
Lokesh brings a brooding intensity to the role, perfectly portraying a wounded man carrying anger, pain and unresolved love within him. His performance feels natural and controlled, especially in the quieter emotional scenes, while his action moments give the character a strong mass appeal. Wamiqa Gabbi is equally impressive, bringing energy, vulnerability and fire to her character. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy adds grace and emotional balance to the story.
Arun Matheswaran’s direction gives DC a distinctive identity. The film’s striking visuals, gritty atmosphere and carefully staged action sequences create a cinematic experience that feels bold and different from ordinary gangster entertainers. The Devdas-inspired emotional core adds depth to the revenge narrative, making the film more than just a series of violent confrontations.
Anirudh Ravichander’s music and background score are among the film’s biggest strengths. His electrifying score elevates the action sequences, intensifies the characters’ emotions and gives several scenes a powerful theatrical impact. The technical departments, including cinematography, editing and production design, work together to create a stylish and immersive world.
The screenplay follows familiar themes in places, and a few portions could have been tighter, but the film remains engaging because of its strong performances, emotional atmosphere and high-energy presentation. DC is a bold, violent and visually appealing film that gives Lokesh Kanagaraj a promising beginning as an actor. Fans of intense action dramas, powerful background scores and emotionally charged gangster stories will find this a worthwhile theatrical watch.
