Streaming from 19th June on Sony LIV the movie is set against the vibrant backdrop of an engineering college, the film follows Samkutty (Basil Joseph), an enthusiastic student determined to revive the institution’s legendary “Arohan” fest—a celebration that was banned years ago following a tragic stampede. But what begins as a mission to restore lost glory soon turns into a rollercoaster of madness when Samkutty crosses paths with Sreekuttan Vellayani (Tovino Thomas), a local goon-turned-musician with a bruised ego.
As the countdown to the fest begins, friendships are tested, campus politics heat up, and an epic rivalry takes center stage. Packed with humour, heart, music, and mayhem, Athiradi is a celebration of everything we love about college life. Directed by debutant Arun Anirudhan, best known for scripting Minnal Murali, Athiradi follows Samkutty (Basil Joseph), a spirited college student determined to revive BCET College’s iconic cultural festival. His ambitious plans take an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Sreekuttan Vellayani (Tovino Thomas), an eccentric goon-turned-musician whose arrival sparks a hilarious, high-energy rivalry.

The film also stars Darshana Rajendran, Riya Shibu, Zarin Shihab, Jeo Baby, Vishnu, and Shelvin in pivotal roles. Adding to the fun, Vineeth Sreenivasan and music composer Shaan Rahman make special appearances as fictionalised versions of themselves. Produced by Basil Joseph and Dr. Ananthu S, Athiradi blends comedy, action, romance, and emotion against the backdrop of a lively college festival, making for a thoroughly entertaining watch.
