Verdict: “Well-intentioned but heavy-handed, Nizharkudai tugs at emotional threads without giving them space to breathe.”
Review:
Nizharkudai follows an ambitious couple who neglect their fragile daughter, Nila, leaving her in the care of Jyoti, a Sri Lankan refugee who becomes her true maternal figure. While Devyani delivers a sincere and moving performance, the film suffers from a preachy tone, predictable plot twists, and melodramatic storytelling. The investigation angle feels clichéd, and the emotional moments are often forced. Despite its strong themes of parental neglect and sacrifice, the film feels more like a moral lesson than an engaging drama.
