Retro Movie Review

Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro is a stylish action drama set in 1960s Tuticorin, revolving around Pari (Suriya), a traumatised boy turned feared gangster, who struggles between loyalty to his violent past and the love of his life, Rukmini (Pooja Hegde).

The film blends intense action with emotional depth, especially during the high-stakes wedding sequence that explodes into chaos. Pooja Hegde shines as the soulful Rukmini, while Joju George impresses as the ruthless father figure.

With standout cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and electrifying stunt choreography by Kecha Khamphakdee, Retro is a visually rich and gripping entertainer.

Verdict:
“Retro is a bloody symphony of vengeance and love, wrapped in vintage charm and powered by stellar performances.”
