Sachin (2005) – Movie Review

Sachin, starring Vijay and Genelia, is a romantic entertainer set in Ooty. The story is a familiar one — college mates who don’t know each other fall in love after a chance meeting on a rainy day. Vijay’s tender romantic hero image fits perfectly, while Genelia shines as a spoilt rich girl. Bipasha Basu adds glam with an item number.

The film’s highlight is its stunning cinematography capturing the Nilgiris beautifully. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is catchy but forgettable. Though the film feels like a rehash of Kushi with forced fights and predictable comedy, Vijay’s charm and the picturesque visuals keep it watchable.

Verdict:
“A charming yet formulaic romantic ride with Vijay’s charisma and gorgeous backdrops.”

Rating: 3/5
