S/o Kalingarayan Movie Review

Verdict: “A compelling rural thriller that blends mystery, action, and social message with strong performances.”

S/o Kalingarayan follows Udaya Krishna, who loses his memory after a mysterious attack and is rescued by a tribal woman. As he uncovers his identity as Kalingarayan’s son, he joins hands with Police Inspector Bharathi Mohan to expose a powerful gang involved in tribal land grabs and violence against women.

Sethupathi shines as the action-packed lead, while director Bharathi Mohan impresses both behind and in front of the camera. Thentral adds depth with her natural performance as a tribal woman. The music, especially the title track and the duet “Koovatho Padaatho…”, elevates the film’s emotional tone. Stunning cinematography and gritty stunts enhance the rural backdrop.

The film powerfully delivers the message: “The land belongs to the one who plows it”, highlighting land rights and the struggles of tribal communities.

In short: A gripping and socially conscious thriller that entertains and enlightens.
