Synopsis: Sweetheart follows Vasu (Rio Raj), a commitment-phobic animator whose world turns upside down when his girlfriend Manu (Gopika Ramesh) announces her pregnancy. However, instead of a heartfelt rom-com, the film drowns in excessive flashbacks, misplaced humor, and sluggish storytelling.
Direction & Narrative: Director Swineeth S. Kumar stretches a simple premise into an overlong, convoluted mess. The pregnancy confirmation subplot drags on unnecessarily, overloaded with repetitive flashbacks that derail the pacing.

Comedy & Characters: The humor falls flat, with Vasu’s sidekick Senthil delivering tiring gags and a bizarre child-spy subplot that feels out of place. These distractions make it hard to stay engaged in the core romance.
Performances & Music: Rio Raj effectively captures Vasu’s anxiety, while Gopika Ramesh adds warmth to Manu’s character. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s lively score is one of the few highlights in an otherwise disappointing film.
Final Thoughts: Sweetheart fails to balance romance and comedy, leaving viewers with a meandering, frustrating experience rather than an engaging love story.
