In Kanguva, Suriya shines as both Francis, a modern-day shadow cop, and Kanguva, an ancient tribal prince. The film follows a gripping narrative across two timelines—Francis’ encounter with a mysterious boy leads him to discover his past as Kanguva, who fought invaders and betrayals a thousand years ago.
Suriya’s performance is intense, especially in the action-packed period scenes, supported by Vetri Palanisamy’s stunning visuals. However, the modern-day storyline and supporting characters feel underdeveloped, with overly loud background music detracting from emotional moments.
Despite minor flaws, Kanguva excels as an ambitious visual spectacle with riveting action and Suriya’s powerful dual role.
