Synopsis
Amaran follows the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a dedicated officer in the Rashtriya Rifles, from his days as a college student with dreams of joining the army to his brave last moments in service. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film balances Mukund’s military journey with his personal life, particularly his love story with Indhu.
Review
Sivakarthikeyan transforms impressively from a light-hearted student to a disciplined officer. Sai Pallavi shines as Indhu, though her Malayalam pronunciation feels distracting. The film’s pacing initially drags, but the intense action sequences and camaraderie between soldiers elevate the story, bringing authenticity to Mukund’s legacy.
While occasional forced references and slight linguistic slips disrupt the flow, Amaran ultimately stands as a powerful tribute, reminding audiences of the selfless sacrifices of soldiers and their families.
