Synopsis:
Dhonima follows Dhanam, a domestic worker struggling to fund her son Dravid’s surgery while dealing with her alcoholic husband, Kotti.
Review:
Roshni Prakash shines as Dhanam, portraying her resilience. However, the film falters due to poorly developed supporting characters, particularly Kotti, whose alcoholism lacks depth. The potential of neighbors James and Suganthi is introduced but not fully explored.
The relationships among Dhanam, Kotti, and Dravid are engaging, and the film’s music adds emotional resonance. Despite some charming moments, Dhonima ultimately fails to deliver a cohesive narrative.
Verdict: “Dhonima gets many moments right but lacks the depth to become a solid drama.”
