ஆசிரியர் தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு, கற்பித்தலில் புதுமையை புகுத்தி வரும் பள்ளி ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு வேல்ஸ் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் சார்பாக விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. இதில் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் இருந்து ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். நிகழ்ச்சியில் மாண்புமிகு சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சர் திரு மா. சுப்பிரமணியன் அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டு, ஆசிரியர்களை வாழ்த்தி அவர்களை மேலும் உற்சாகப்படுத்தும் வகையில் உரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.
