Plot Summary:
“Vasco Da Gama” explores a dystopian world where evil is revered and goodness is ridiculed. The film follows Vasudevan (Nakkhul), who, after the death of his brother, relocates and ends up in a criminal environment. He finds himself in Vasco Da Gama jail where confusion over his identity jeopardizes his father’s safety.
Execution:
The film’s concept is intriguing, but the execution falters with a convoluted screenplay and unimpressive comedy. The grand visuals of the jail contrast with the lackluster story and outdated dialogue.
Performances:
Nakkhul shines in his comeback, though he is hindered by the weak script. Arthana Binu and supporting actors like Anandraj and Muniskanth perform well, but K S Ravikumar’s role is underwhelming.
Verdict:
“Vasco Da Gama” fails to capitalize on its promising premise due to poor execution and a confusing plot, resulting in a disengaging experience.
Short Verdict Quote:
“A grand idea lost in weak execution and confusing screenplay.”
