In the glitzy realm of Bollywood, where youth often take center stage, actor Krishna Kotian’s journey shines as a beacon of inspiration. A late bloomer in the truest sense, Krishna embarked on his acting career at the age of 54, defying age stereotypes and proving that dreams can be pursued at any stage of life.
Krishna’s latest role in the hit movie “Ghoomer” as a skilled surgeon has captivated audiences and critics alike. Commenting on the occasion Krishna said “Working with R. Balki was a dream come true. We worked together at Lintas where I worked for 6+ years. Nostalgia struck when I saw Balki on the sets the very first day. Also, there were other people in the story and the production team who were ex-Lintas. It took some time for me to get over my thoughts and go and say hello to the director and the team. They all welcomed me with open arms and mentioned that they were happy to learn that I chose to pursue my dreams and do something different from the run-of-the-mill. It was like a mini office get-together on the sets.”
What adds to the allure of Krishna’s performance is his extensive repertoire of work in some of the most talked about content pieces to hit our screens be it Drishyam 2, Criminal Justice, Rocket Boys, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Adipurush, The Trial, etc. Starting out his career at an age when many contemplate retirement, Krishna’s determination and commitment have been the driving forces behind his rapid ascent. Adding further the actor says “R. Balki is a creative genius and I had seen him directing ‘Cheeni Kum’ from close quarters. I never imagined that one day I’d get to play a character directed by him. Although the box office numbers of the film are not massive, we have been able to win the hearts of the viewers, actors, critics, and cricketers alike. I have also become a fan of Abhishek’s and Saiyami’s performance.”
As the accolades for Ghoomer pour in, Krishna Kotian’s story serves as a poignant reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. His journey from entering the industry as a seasoned professional to earning acclaim for his performances in major productions is a living testament to his unwavering determination and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead for those who dare to follow their hearts. He will soon be seen in projects including Sam Manekshaw by Meghana Gulzar with Vicky Kaushal, The Chosen One by Nikhil Advani, For Your Eyes Only with Pratik Gandhi, and Yudhra with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
