The Indian state of Manipur is currently facing a grave humanitarian crisis, with a surge in ethnic violence that has plunged the state into a state of civil war, leaving countless families displaced and communities shattered.
In light of the atrocities that have been unfolding, my friend Kavya Sathyamoorthy and I have conducted extensive research to identify a reliable avenue for providing direct support to those displaced in Manipur.
Our search led us to Sadam Hanjabam, the visionary behind Ya-All (meaning ‘revolution’), a UN acknowledged NGO in Manipur. An internationally acclaimed human rights defender featured in UNESCO, UN, Oprah Winfrey, Tedx, and more, Sadam has been on the frontlines of change, advocating for human rights and social justice.
Sadam Hanjabam’s organization, Ya-All, is currently leading a fundraising campaign to rehabilitate the displaced people of Manipur. The campaign aims to provide these vulnerable individuals with food, shelter, clothing, and much-needed medical assistance. It also seeks to alleviate the distressing use of terror against women in the region.
I have made a contribution of ₹25,000 to Ya-All this month and I look forward to contributing more during the coming months. Together, we can be a beacon of hope, providing the much- needed support and compassion to help rebuild shattered lives.
Indian donors are eligible for 80G deductions, and to ensure transparency, every donor will receive a comprehensive report detailing the use of their contribution.
We invite the media, public, and organizations to support this critical initiative. Your generous donations will go a long way in bringing relief and rehabilitation to those displaced in Manipur.
