In a recently released rap video, entitled \u201c[XG TAPE #2] GALZ XYPHER (COCONA, MAYA, HARVEY, JURIN)\u201d, XG\u2019s rappers perform a freestyle rap to classic hip hop tracks, blending English, Japanese, and Korean and garnering huge acclaim from across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video reached number 10 on the Japan YouTube chart, as well as surpassing 1 million views within four days. Video of COCONA\u2019s rap hit 5 million views and 1 million likes in four days on TikTok, generating a large number of UGC and reaction videos from outside Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, J.I.D., who created the original track COCONA performed, reacted on his social media, showing how XG is steadily spreading into global hip hop culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, an additional video featuring a separate take of COCONA\u2019s rap, titled \u201cTEST VIDEO,\u201d was released. Using the same track as \u201cGALZ XYPHER,\u201d the footage was filmed during rehearsals and features raw studio sounds. Additional videos for the other three members are likely to be released soon, hopefully providing more ammunition XG\u2019s viral rap performances, a genre where the group truly shines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

XG are a seven-member HipHop\/R&B girl group consisting of JURIN, CHISA, HARVEY, HINATA, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA.
On March 18 2022, they became the first artists to debut from XGALX, a global entertainment production company with a mission to produce artists with a defined world view, creating a culture of \u201cbold\u201d creativity. The group’s name, “XG”, stands for “Xtraordinary Girls”. With their fresh, inventive music and performance, XG aims to empower young people from all over the world – from all walks of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the key ingredients of making a successful show is to have the perfect casting of powerful performers that bring alive the characters they\u2019re assigned to play. Propelling the intense story of MX Original Series Dharavi Bank to new heights is its ensemble cast of stellar actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 10 episode series follows the thrilling chase of a restless cop essayed by Vivek Anand Oberoi and the Tamilian don, Thalaivan played by Suniel Shetty. But another side of the story is Thalaivan\u2019s love for his family which is portrayed by actors par excellence – Shanthi Priya, Bhavvna Rao and Vamsi Krishna. The makers strategically designed this representation by casting actors with vast experience in the south industry to add authenticity to the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proliferating world of OTT content has given opportunities to unconventional talents and stories across India. Making his digital debut with Dharavi Bank, Suniel Shett\u2019s character Thalaivan has struck a chord with the audiences for his impeccable accent, look and bringing alive the aesthetics of the region. Shanthi Priya also returned to the screen with this show as Thalaivan\u2019s sister along with Bhavvna Rao who made her digital debut as Thalaivan\u2019s daughter and Vamsi Krishna as the brain of the family as Thalaivan\u2019s eldest son. This cast makes the show more authentic in depicting the South Indian family based in Dharavi.
Speaking about the casting process of the show, director Samit Kakkad said, \u201cThe script demanded realness in everything that was required in creating the series. Being authentic in the casting has been a crucial factor in Dharavi Bank\u2019s success. It is actually quite ironic that the actors we got to play these parts, including Anna, hail from the South and this was designed keeping in mind the intrinsic nuances of the region that they could bring alive. I am so grateful it happened the way it did because in addition to being phenomenal performers – they really enhanced and improvised on dialogues, the language, dialect, certain aspects of the culture that only they could get right since they\u2019re from the South.\u201d
Shanthi Priya added, \u201cHaving spent most of my life in the Southern parts of India, I have seen how we have a strong sense of pride in our culture and that was something I wanted to translate on screen. The four of us could relate to that familial feeling and that reflected on our faces when you see the show. It truly felt as if they were my family.\u201d
Bhavvna Rao said, \u201cAfter every wrap, I couldn\u2019t wait to get back to our next schedule for Dharavi Bank. The energy on the sets that Samit and the team brought in was something else! It truly made us feel like a unit and strengthened our on-screen chemistry.\u201d
